The research behind HumanityED

Jermaine Fowler, a public historian, New York Times bestselling author, and award-winning narrator with over 10 years of experience teaching and speaking on overlooked history and humanity, developed HumanityED.

Through The Humanity Archive, which Fowler founded to address the urgent need for inclusive and transformative education, he has been supporting educators and sharing resources.

Fowler created HumanityED to provide comprehensive support to educators, helping them inspire and engage students with underrepresented historical narratives. The resources offer an unflinching look at history, blending a critical assessment of human events while never losing sight of our common humanity.

This approach challenges the skewed versions of history often found in textbooks, empowering citizens with a more accurate and inclusive understanding of the past.

If you're a school passionate about equity and justice, social-emotional learning, civic education, or enriching your curriculum with deep, impactful content, HumanityED is designed for you. These materials will help you supplement your year-long curriculum with content that truly resonates and inspires your students.
